Sri D. Sridhar Babu takes charge as Minister for IT & Industries
Hon’ble Minister for Industries and IT, Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, assumed office at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat today in his room early in the morning. As soon as he took charge, he signed three files, that deal with long pending demands expressed from stakeholders of the IT and Industries Departments.
The first initiative is to develop an exclusive policy for MSMEs and to set up an institutional mechanism for handholding and supporting MSMEs in the State, the backbone of industrial growth and employment creation in the State.
The second initiative deals with creation of a platform for online filing of Right to Information applications, that is applicable across departments, an issue that had been consistently raised by RTI activists and civil society in the past, given that multiple other states already have this facility in place. This platform is expected to promote increased accountability and transparency in government departments across the board.
The third initiative deals with making all government departments and agencies use digital technologies to improve public service delivery and departmental efficiency. Accordingly an immediate study will be conducted to assess preparedness of all departments and identify opportunities to use digital tools.
